Denim as an expression of adventure, chosen as an element dedicated to the travellers of past centuries. An ennobling inspiration that adds a quasi-aristocratic meaning to the fabric. The journey as a distinguishing feature, stops focussed on art. On beauty. So Paris is represented by the elaborate rose windows of Notre-Dame or the sharp and ambitious geometries of the Eiffel Tower, on decorations, jacron labels, buttons and linings. Or Vienna, evoked with the brushstrokes of Gustav Klimt, by the impressive Prater Ferris wheel, or the magnificent imperial palace of Schönbrunn. The reference to adventures becomes more dense when the edelweiss appears, a flower that can flourish in the most remote and surprising mountain sites, embroidered as a decoration on jacron labels and linings. The numerous shades of colour at Yellowstone National Park provide the amber for tops and outer jackets and blue, in all its hues, for denim. The Après-ski collection is an allusion to the world of holidays, more laid back and with an equally aristocratic take, when cartoon pictures of cars laden with skis and skiers cover jumpers, jacron labels and outer jackets, including sleeveless ones. Velvet, Alcantara textile, flannel and the obligatory denim create the ideal clothing for a long relaxing break that is well-deserved after daytime sporting prowesses. The fabrics have a rugged weave but are also luxuriously soft: wool flannel for over-shirts, with or without fake fur, Prince of Wales check or houndstooth for straight-cut trousers, or with a denim effect. Polo shirts, polo necks, crew necks made with the finest of yarns, cashmere, combined with velvet or denim, for an undeniable touch of nobility in the fabric. The AW24 Jacob Cohën Menswear Collection also features a new denim design with five pockets, sewn in thread coated in 24k gold and with buttons featuring gold micro-nugget inserts.
